The Community Foundation of Greater Kingston

The Foundation: Gifts and Bequests

The Marine Museum is a participating member of The Community Foundation of Greater Kingston.

A gift to the Marine Museum is specifically identified and 'pooled' with other gifts as part of a much larger endowment fund. Each year the proceeds of the investment is proportionally distributed to the
participating members of the Community Foundation. The larger size of a 'pooled' fund tends to yield a better return on investment than a smaller fund.

Unrestricted gifts to the Foundation are the most desirable since the proceeds can be used wherever the need is greatest at the time of receipt. You can, however specify the ultimate use of the gift and be assured that your instructions will be followed by the Trustees of the Foundation. If you decide to restrict your gift we suggest you contact us for preferred gift designation.

While tax considerations are seldom the primary motive in making a gift, it is the policy of our government to encourage charitable gifts by making tax deductions available to the donor.

Types of Gift Assets include Gifts of Cash, Securities, Real Estate, Life Insurance and Bequests. For information please contact the Marine Museum or:
